The celestial dragon is going very slowly; I’m still not finished with the streamers on the head. I’m annoyed with all my WIPs right now; I’m considering swapping this and the bookmark out for different projects. I have a couple of other WIPs that belong on scroll frames.
This is Stitch & Zip’s Zen Bamboo coin purse/credit card case (SZ187) needlepoint kit. It’s preassembled; there’s a zipper that goes all the way around and the back is green fabric. A Japanese dictionary says the character means “blessing; fortune; luck; wealth” and a Chinese dictionary says it means “good fortune / happiness / luck / blessing”. I got this on clearance at Hobby Lobby and put my other projects aside to do this because I’m going to try to use it. It’s a little bit larger than my existing change purse, though.
I’m now working on three projects on alternating days. This month I bought two more small kits and started one and also bought a cross stitch magazine (my first!). This is in addition to the creepy cross stitch kit that I posted about already.
I’ve been slowly working on the celestial dragon; I’m working around the head and not having to rip out as much as I did when I first started, though any time I get away from the head, stitches have to come out. I’m hoping it will become a little easier once I get away from the head and its streamers. The blending filament is still a pain to deal with.
